What do these photos show?
These photos give an idea of how much the Craigavon and Lurgan area has suffered due to the start of the troubles and the lack of investment. The Craigavon area as mentioned remains unfinished and the Mandeville sector was never built.
In the 1980's you could have walked into housing estates to find a large majority of the housing derelict or abandoned. Burnside and Legahory suffered badly during this period and has continued to get worse to this current day. Burnside has almost been completely demolished and is now the home of a temporary traveller camp. In the Legahory estate only a handful of houses are still occupied, the rest have been boarded up or burnt out.
Vision for the future
From the photos you can see the great vision they had for Craigavon never came about. The single-use zoning hasn't worked. Features such as the cycle and path networks are a mystery tour at times. The road infrastructure is laughable with an inexplicable use of rounabouts instead of road junctions. Craigavon = Epic Fail .
